Baby Got Back

I LOVE unique backs on shirts and dresses. I think it gives the piece so much character and if you work out like I do, it's fun to show off your hard work. And I don't know about you, but an exposed back is definitely the sexiest you can get. Here is some inspiration I accumulated on my Pinterest!

A Quote that Changed My Life

Pinned Image

I can't exactly pinpoint what it is about this quote, but when I saw it, it really struck me. I wrote it down AND made it my facebook status (I know, so serious...). I feel like this makes you kind of take a look at your life and the things and people in it and evaluate whether you appreciate them or if you are letting them slip ahead or leaving them ignored. I actively try to make people in my life feel like I appreciate them, I truly feel like it is one of the most important things in any relationship that you have. A lot of people think that giving and receiving is appreciation, but for me its just a phone call, a card, a text message, a hug. Showing that appreciation can be so simple and yea of course its always nice and fun to make a grand gesture, but not everyone has the means to do so. The little things usually mean more anyway. So do me a favor, this weekend, take a look at your life: What/Who do you appreciate? Why do you appreciate them/it? How do you make them feel or show appreciation for having that thing or person in your life?

Don't let the important things slip out of your fingers. It sucks to appreciate what you had.

Make Yourself

Back to work. It's been a while since I did a fitness post and I am glad to be back at it. Exercise and sports have always been a part of my life; my parents put me on basketball, track, swimming and softball teams starting when I was 5. I always took it for granted and just did what I had to do without realizing what or how my body was looking and feeling the way it was. Starting about 3 or 4 months ago I decided to do pretty much what this Nike ad says (I know I am corny), "Make your body. Make your life. Make Yourself." I feel like I have finally taken control of my fitness and my body. I decide the shape I want it to be in and how far I want to push myself. Incorporating a lot more weight training and less just plain cardio has definitely made that difference for me. And on top of that, keeping track of every workout in a fitness notebook holds me accountable and also helps me see how much I have accomplished and how far I have come.

Remember, clothes don't look good unless your body looks good!

All Dolled Up

Oy Vey. Being super dressed up without makeup at 6am is just not a good look for me. This was the morning of my office's Holiday Party and I saved my makeup application until the end of the workday. I forgot to take a picture, but the back of the dress is my favorite part because there is a cutout oval. I think backs makes shirts and dresses so much more exciting! Ha! Well, this is my last catch-up post! Fitness and Lifestyle is coming back this week! Have a great Tuesday :)

Happy Monday! BEST WEEKEND EVER-the GIANTS are going to the Super Bowl. I am a DIE hard fan and spent all of last night pounding Coronas and screaming at a big screen TV with some friends. I will definitely be living off this high for the next two weeks. And...I took a picture of my Giants gear outfit and will try and get it up this week, I am proud of my team spirit.

Good news, I only have a few more old outfits to post and hopefully I will be all back to normal on here! :)

Gray Day

[Booties: Bandolino, Skirt: F21, Top: H&M, Sweater: Hong Kong]
These outfits are not the brightest of them all which is pretty consistent with my winter wardrobe. I guess I didn't realize how  much dark colors I wear in the winter until I have had this blog through the winter. Luckily, we have had a very mild winter so far, but I am kind of nervous for when it actually gets to the point of snow and ice, I forget what it is like! The last thing I want is snow and ice, but it feels like spring will never come unless we get past it!

Today is hopefully my last full day of Jury Duty. Here's to hoping! Happy Hump Day!

From Here to There

I am so frustrated because my computer charger only seems to work once ever four days! Hence why I have not been posting regularly, so irritating. Anyways, I have also been on Jury Duty for the past week and half, so I have been on the computer way less than usual. SO...here are some outfits from the end of November to keep this ball rolling! I can't wait to get back to my normal schedule!

Out

These are some of the last pictures I took at the house I grew up in, I don't think I ever mentioned on my blog that I moved out into my own apartment. It is only about 3 miles from where I grew up but it's my own. Its the basement apartment of a house with my own bathroom and living room/bedroom area. I got an amazing deal and I just couldn't pass up growing up and moving out. It is definitely a huge and new responsibility to be paying rent but weirdly, it feels great. I feel empowered and even more motivated to work my butt off!

These outfits were just from a day of work and the skirt is what I wore on Thanksgiving! See, I really am that far behind!!

Have a great Friday!
